Quality of sleep (how well you sleep) is as important as quantity of sleep (how long you sleep) for a healthy wellbeing. Interestingly, quality of sleep can be measured in quantity. Review your sleep routine in normal days and answer the questions below to get an insight of your sleep quality. Design of these questionnaires are based on information provided by National Sleep Foundation.

Waking frequently during the night disrupts your sleep cycle and making you tired the next day. An indicator of good quality sleep is waking 1 time during the night if any.

Another indicator to measure sleep quality is how long you are awake throughout the night. 20 minutes or less is the objective for a good quality sleep.

Do you spend less than 85% of your time in bed asleep?

Sleep efficiency is a sleep quality indicator always found in polysomnography to measure the percentage of time you are asleep against the time you spend in bed.  A goal of 85% or more is required for a good quality sleep.
